When Life Gives You Lemons …

A father in Texas was diagnosed with cancer. His six year old son decided to raise some money to help pay for his father’s medical bills. He opened a lemonade stand. Amazingly, he managed to raise more than $10,000 in one day. The little boy turned lemons into lemonade, and lemonade into money. Randy Cox lives in Gladewater, Texas, with his wife, Tonya Cooley Cox. They have three sons: Drew is six years old, Jake is four years old, and Micah is only seven months old. Randy, who is 30 years old, was recently diagnosed with seminoma. Seminoma is a … Continue reading

Keep Your Chin Up!

What do they say? “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”, I think that is it. When you are trying to lose weight try not to get discouraged if your losses are not major. Little increments of weight loss are better than no weight loss at all or even worse, gaining weight. Instead of feeling down in the dumps try to keep your body and mind busy on positive and uplifting things and people as well. Keeping your body active will not only deter yourself into gloominess because you are moving about, but you will burn calories as well. Keeping … Continue reading

Watch The Lemons–Mom’s At It Again!

You’re familiar with the adage: “If life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” Well, if you give my mom lemons, don’t expect lemonade; expect a cleaning product. The woman who taught me how to get a hairbrush so clean I almost feel guilty using it on my dirty hair. Unexpected Outcomes of Single Parenting

If I had known way back in the beginning, when I was becoming a parent, what I know about single parenthood–I might have chosen life as a single parent first, instead of going the traditional marriage route. Just writing that out seems somewhat unexpected and shocking, I know. But, I’ve found that there are a lot of unexpected outcomes from my accidental path of single parenting and it hasn’t been that bad of a gig! I’ve heard all the people who say that a family has to be one man and one woman and then all the children live happily … Continue reading

Just What The Doctor Ordered

Today on Rachael Ray’s show, she had Dr. Timothy Brantley on her show. He is the author of The Cure: Heal your body, save your life. He gave some helpful ways in which food helps us when we are sick or to prevent illnesses. He went over a few that I thought was interesting. Here they are: Lemons are a great food to keep on hand. Lemon improves your liver function. The liver helps to clean your blood. He suggests drinking 1/4 of a lemon in warm water to maintain the health of your liver. Potatoes are a great food … Continue reading
