Seven States Sue Over Birth Control Coverage

Yet another lawsuit has been filed regarding the requirement that religiously affiliated businesses receive birth control coverage in their employer sponsored health insurance plans. This time, the lawsuit has been filed against the Obama administration by a group of seven states. The battle over birth control coverage continues. Geneva College Sues Federal Government Over Birth Control Coverage

Geneva College, in Pennsylvania, has filed a lawsuit against the federal government. The lawsuit is another one that is in opposition to the requirement that employers offer coverage for birth control in their employer sponsored health insurance. It is unlikely to be the last lawsuit on this issue. Geneva College is a Christian college that is located in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1848 by the Reformed Presbyterian Church. Obama Administration Responds to Belmont Abbey College Lawsuit

The controversy over birth control coverage in health insurance has led to more than one lawsuit. Recently, Belmont Abbey College sued the federal government because the college felt that the new rules regarding contraceptive coverage violate their religious teachings. The Obama administration has now responded to to this lawsuit. In November of 2011, Belmont Abbey College, in North Carolina, filed a lawsuit against the federal government. The college was founded by Benedictine monks, and is a Catholic college.
