Why Can’t I Use My Credit Card?

When I applied for my new health insurance policy, I gave the insurer my credit card information. After being approved, I learned that the insurance company really doesn’t want me to pay premiums by credit card at all. They strongly prefer that I give them direct access to my checking account. Why can’t I just pay by credit card? It took a long time, and an incredible amount of effort, for me to find an affordable health insurance plan. I haven’t actually had reason to use it yet. My Quest to Find Affordable Health Insurance is Finished

I recently got approved for a health insurance policy that I can afford. It has been a long, tiring, frustrating, quest to find coverage after I lost my job that came with employer sponsored health insurance. Here is a quick summary of my journey from uninsured to insured. This all started in 2009. I was working as a paraeducator in a special needs classroom. My husband and I are among the many Americans that are trying to find affordable health insurance. About a week and a half ago, he filled out the application form online. Today, the insurance company called us. Few things are more stressful than an unexpected call from a potential insurer. My husband spent around two hours filling out the online application form for health insurance. It was tedious.
