Kids in Texas Might be Covered by CHIP
Every state has a Medicaid program. A portion of that program covers children who come from low-income families. In Texas, this program is called Children’s Medicaid, or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Medicaid, no matter which population it covers, is a public, or government run form of health insurance. It is designed to cover families and individuals who are low-income, and who cannot afford to purchase health insurance from a private company.
