Allstate Helps American Idol Give Back

I'm not always an uptight insurance--risk management--liability thinking person. I do actually have moments in my life where I enjoy the simple pleasures. I'm a music junkie, however not talented myself. I cried when Rock-Cop was cancelled back in the 90's. I actually appreciate just about any kind of music there is. Which means I am one of those people who not only watch American Idol, but I vote too.

Music and the power of the superstars has often resulted in real impact for important causes. American Idol is going to do it again. This month, "Idol Gives Back" will campaign to raise awareness about the effects of poverty on children and young people in the US and Africa. On April 24, American Idol voters will cast more then just a vote for the next American Idol, because each call in vote will earn a sponsors donation.

Ford, Coke and all of the regular Idol sponsors are on board willing to make donations, and last week during the show it was announced that Allstate Insurance has made a generous pledge to sponsor vote calls.

During the voting sponsors will make donations to the Charity Projects Entertainment Fund (CPEF) which will be used to help children and young people in America and Africa. During the results show on April 25 there will be a star-studded extravaganza of artists with performances on the American Idol stage and at Disney Hall.

The two night Idol Gives Back special will equally benefit the U.S. and Africa. In the U.S., the money will be given to Save the Children and other U.S. organizations working to aide children living in disadvantaged areas of the United States. In Africa, the financial contributions will be used for health and education programs and will be distributed via CPEF to several organizations including: U.S. Fund for UNICEF, The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Save the Children, NothingButNets.net and Malaria No More.

How can you help Idol Give Back?

  • Tune in and watch American Idol on April 24th and 25th.
  • Call and Vote for your favorites.

hahaha... "give back". What a joke. If they really wanted to give back, the $ would've come from endimon, not the sponsors and the public. this show has jumped the shark (jumptheshark.com)
