Survivors of domestic violence may face serious financial roadblocks as a result of their abuse. It's not unusual for survivors to have forced out of the workforce for periods of years. Victims were often unable to pursue education or job development. Damaged credit is a common problems survivors need to overcome. Domestic violence knows no economic, social, religious or political boundaries. Any women can be a victim and all were welcome to participate in the conference and share their own story of survival. Participants were given the opportunity to learn from financial, advocacy and personal growth experts who offered sessions on a variety of topics.
