Yesterday, I got a strange piece of mail from my mortgage company. It wasn't a bill, and it wasn't a notice about a late payment. I wasn't a cancellation notice, or anything related to my mortgage. Instead, it was information about a life insurance policy that I can buy from my mortgage company.

The Franciscan University of Steubenville had made the announcement that it will drop health insurance coverage for students. This cancellation of student health insurance will begin this fall.

When I applied for my new health insurance policy, I gave the insurer my credit card information. After being approved, I learned that the insurance company really doesn't want me to pay premiums by credit card at all. They strongly prefer that I give them direct access to my checking account.
